About Eugene Gorab

With over 20 years of real estate investment experience, Eugene Gorab has overseen more than $6 billion in investment funds during his career. After graduating from Bucknell University with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Eugene Gorab later earned his MBA from the University of Chicago.

Soon after he completed his business degree, Mr. Gorab joined Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. as Project Engineer, where he oversaw the development of chemical facilities across three states. After two years in this role, Mr. Gorab became Acquisitions Officer for the JMB Realty Corporation. There, his responsibilities included acquisition and development projects, as well as investment and oversight. In 1991, Mr. Gorab became one of four funding partners for Starwood Capital Group, where he also acted as Managing Director. Mr. Gorab headed the firm’s Development and Land Groups, oversaw Starwood Asset Management, and was an Investment Committee senior member. In addition, he was responsible for more than $2 billion in investments at that firm.

Currently, Eugene Gorab is the President and CEO of real estate private equity firm Greenfield Partners, based in Greenfield, Connecticut. During his tenure with the company—of which he is also a founder—he has helped grow the firm to 52 employees across three offices, with total investments exceeding $4 billion. It is now recognized as one of the preeminent real estate private equity firms.

Mr. Gorab’s extensive experience in real estate investments has led him to become an active member of the Pension Real Estate Association, The Real Estate Roundtable, and the Urban Land Institute.
